WALKER

I have just found that a WALKER family I am researching emigrated from Leochel-Cushnie, Aberdeen to Alberta. They cannot be found in scottish census after 1891 so presume it was sometime after that date.

Margaret/Maggie WALKER (nee Middleton) born 1830, Coull, Aberdeen arrived in Hill End district where a daughter had emigrated earlier as a teacher.

It was believed that Maggie arrived with two sons and youngest daughter Helen. The daughter, Helen Middleton WALKER md Frederick Charles PARKER. They are buried at Horn Hill Cemetery.

In 1910 when Margaret's son enlisted in WW1 she was described as of Box Hill.

In 1917 when he died at she is noted as being of Red Cliff.

Any help tracing Margaret and her children between 1891-1925 would be gratefully appreciated. Maggie was buried 1925 at Hillside cemetery, Medicine Hat.

Thanks, in anticipation.

RUSSELL

RUSSELL, RED DEER, early 1900's - Alice Watson married Robert Henry Russell in 1910 in London, England and then emigrated to Canada. Alice had a daughter, Mary Josephine, prior to her marriage (born c1901). All three settled in the Red Deer area, farming. I have found them in the 1916 census but know nothing more. Alice was the sister of my great grandfather and I would love to know what happened to the family, especially Mary as my great grandparents raised her while her mother worked as a ladies maid in London. They were heartbroken when she left.
